Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Aromas of black fruits and blackcurrant mingle elegantly with sweet vanilla and faint smoky notes.
  • Palate: The palate is beautifully balanced with the intense black fruits from the nose coming through. The finish is long, persistent, and delightfully crisp.

Vineyard History:

Established in 1984 by Bertrand and Jocelyne Martigne, Château l’Eglise d’Armens is situated in the commune of Saint-Pey-d’Armens, near the historic church that inspired its name. In 2016, the estate was acquired by Domaines Comte de Malet Roquefort, aligning it with the esteemed Château La Gaffelière, a Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion.

Wine Region:

Saint-Émilion, located on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, is renowned for its Merlot-dominant blends. The region’s diverse terroir, characterized by clay-limestone soils, imparts unique minerality and depth to its wines. The Saint-Émilion Grand Cru designation signifies stringent production standards, ensuring wines of exceptional quality and aging potential.
