Vineyard Information and History
Huxbear Vineyard was established in 2007 by Ben and Lucy Hulland, who planted 14 acres of vines on south and southwest-facing slopes in the Teign Valley, Devon. An additional planting in 2013 expanded the vineyard to just over 15 acres. The vineyard comprises two fields: one dedicated to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for sparkling wine production, and another with a mix of varieties including Pinot Meunier, Bacchus, Schönberger, and Siegerrebe for both still and sparkling wines
The name “Huxbear” is inspired by the Ursa Major (Great Bear) constellation, which is visible above the vineyard, symbolizing the guardianship of their vines.
