Wine Description & Tasting Notes
Sharpham have been producing award-winning English wines since 1982, using grapes from carefully selected varieties grown on their sheltered slopes overlooking the River Dart.
In 2008 they moved across the river, as head wine maker Duncan Swaab noticed the slopes opposite always looked sunnier. The new winery and vineyard is now named Sandridge Barton, which has become Sharpham’s new home.
Traditional and new world techniques are employed in the winemaking processes, which result in a range of distinctive and carefully balanced wines.
Hailing from the hot summer of 2022, this concentrated and rounded red really does flaunt that harnessed South Devon sunshine in every sip! It is rounded and easy drinking, with soft and well-integrated tannins and spiced berries on the finish.
Nose: Bramble fruit, black cherries and violets.
Palate: Rounded and easy drinking, with soft and well intergrated tannins and a spiced berry compote finish.
Food: Grilled meats with lighter sauces such as chimichurri or a mushroom/truffle risotto.
