This is something special!
The highlight of our visit to @roebuckestates was undoubtedly tasting through their entire range—including a beautifully aged magnum and a selection of vintages that showcased just how special their sparkling wines are.
But the real standout? Rare Expressions No.19.
Crafted from a single, standout parcel of Pinot Noir from their Roman Villa vineyard (a nod to which is reflected in the label design), this cuvée was so distinct at the blending stage that the team made the bold decision to set it aside—to let it evolve on its own. And evolve it did: for an extraordinary 84 months on lees.
Only 2,500 bottles were made and will not be made again. Fewer than 300 remain. We’re lucky to be able to offer two of them.
Even before the first sip, it’s technically fascinating. But what truly sets it apart is the experience it delivers in the glass. The nose is focused and refined—elegant, but quietly powerful. It draws you in and asks you to pause. The palate follows through with incredible balance and a deep, persistent core. The bubbles? Luxuriously fine, beautifully integrated, and they linger, echoing long after each sip.
It’s one of those wines moments that takes you to somewhere ethereal for a moment. Even with the 1000+ wines I’ve tasted only a handful have felt this special.
It’s a wine made not just with precision, but with real emotion. And when you open it, you feel that.
This isn’t just a bottle—it’s a celebration of English winemaking at its finest.

Yesterday we were kindly invited to @roebuckestates for a day of independents!
Of all days it decided to become wet and windy 😅 but the team at Roebuck still made it a great day of chat, discussions of the industry, delicious food and of course tasting their whole range! (Including their Rare expressions no.19 which was epic! And even at a RRP of £95 it definitely tasted like it’s worth every penny!)
To begin we tasted the 2017 magnum Classic Cuvée whilst we listened to the history and current set up of the vineyards. We then sat down to taste 5 more wines, 2018 classic Cuvée, 2018 Rosé de Noirs, 2019 Rosé de Noirs, 2018 Blanc de Noirs and the Rare Expressions no19 whilst we listened to viticulture manager, Jake tell us all about how they manage their vineyards.
Sustainably was clearly key for them and they even have their own full time ecologist to make sure they’re doing all they can to keep the biodiversity in the vineyard.
Still young in terms of a vineyard, producing their first vintage in 2014, they have clear views of what they are and have resisted deviation from that. That is they they will only produce premium vintage sparkling wines with long lees ageing (36 months min).
Enjoy a bottle of pure dedication to quality and sustainability like we did by ordering online at www.wine-hub.co.uk

Winemaker in the house! 🍷✨
Today we had the absolute pleasure of meeting with Roberto, the man behind the magic at @bodegasantalba — yep, the winery that makes that Natural Rioja you all can’t get enough of 😍
Fresh off the plane from Spain (literally — he landed in Bristol just hours before), Roberto came straight to see us, arms full of amazing wines to taste. From a crisp, fresh Viura (aka Macabeo) to a juicy Rosado that’s basically begging for a garden party invite, plus his red blend and the Crianza Rioja (a seriously quaffable version of the Reserva we stock).
Tasting through the range with Roberto himself was something special. Getting a peek into his process, hearing the stories behind the wines, and learning more about the Rioja Alta region (his wines have carried the official stamp since 2021!) gave us a whole new level of appreciation.
Naturally, the conversation wandered — from Rioja to English wines (we’ve got loads on our shelves!) and even the growing popularity of Chinese wines 🌍🍇
We’re big fans of everything Roberto does — especially his Reserva which we’ve stocked since we opened in 2017! But he does mention that the 2019 vintage we have now is a really exceptional vintage, so grab it whilst you can!
📦 Find the Reserva and the soon to be iconic Natural Rioja (and maybe more very soon 👀) at www.wine-hub.co.uk

What an experience this year!
This year’s @london_wine_fair was probably the best yet for us! Not only because we were invited as VIPs as Arthur judged for the @winemerchantmag top 100 but also because we had @chrishaywoodwine from @astleyvineyard join us!
We loved exploring the unfamiliar wines together during the various masterclasses.
🇺🇾Uruguayan wines were exceptional and surprising as the one that really stood out for us was a 9% Sauvignon Blanc. To manage that much character with such a low abv was really impressive.
🇨🇳Chinese wines I think shocked Chris the most but the refinement, balance and quality of the wines we tasted I think are beyond what most people can imagine from China. Yes they’re on the premium side of things but 100% worth it!
🇯🇵The highlight of the fair though had to be the Saké and cheese pairing session. Of course learning about Saké was super fascinating for us wine nerds but the parings were shockingly good and we’d highly recommend you try it out at home!
We also met up with our friends from @sandridgebarton and got the chance to see the pretty new labels coming out soon and tasted our way through a number of Greek wines as so many of you ask us for them. (We think we found some great ones!)
A great wine filled few days! We’ve definitely learnt a lot and discovered a fair few interesting potential new additions to the range too! See you again next year London Wine Fair! 🥂
