English Sparkling Wine
Showcasing some of England’s best Sparkling Wines, from the west coast to the east coast, and discovering why even prestigious Champagne houses are investing in English vineyards.
Tasting will include a snack platter of charcuterie and cheeses (please advise of any allergies/dietary requirements no later than 24 hours before the event).

@astleyvineyard has Shepherds huts!
We were elated to have been invited to stay and be the first to test Astley’s newest venture, Shepherds huts! We arrived on Sunday and just stayed the one night but it’s usually a minimum 2 nights stay.
It’s a cosy set up for two in each hut with a comfy double bedroom mini kitchen with just the right amount of kit to cook a dinner and breakfast for 2 like we did.
Of course the main highlight for us was what was just outside the huts. Especially at this time of year where the vines are alive with growth and the weather is warm enough to enjoy the outside seating whilst you enjoy a complimentary bottle of Astley’s own wine. (You get 2!)
It is self catering so of course come prepared with food but there’s also great places to eat out nearby which is all part of a great info pack provided.
Can’t recommend a stay here enough especially if you’re a wine lover like us! Head to their website for more info, booking should be available next week!

Ps. Morning coffee on the steps staring into the vineyard was just such a beautiful moment.

Have you ever tried an English Sauvignon Blanc before? Never even seen one till now?
We’re not surprised! @astleyvineyard ‘s Sauvignon blanc is probably the only only one we’ve seen, and we’ve seen and tasted a lot of English wines! And even then this Sauvignon blanc is only produced in warmer vintages like this one in 2022 and to add even more to the rarity factor only 300 bottles are made!
So what’s it like? On the nose it’s classically vibrant with zesty limes, crisp green apples, fresh cut grass and a touch of jalapeño. The palate of not awake before tasting it will definitely feel alive after the first sip. Bright acidity like a homemade lemonade carries that fresh and exciting green apple and grassy flavour and lets it linger whilst your palate craves for another hit. It’s crisper and greener than your New Zealand style but it’s more expressive than a Sancerre.

One of the most popular wines from Sandridge Barton’s Don’t Feed the Ponies range. A range of fun experimental wines which is dedicated to raising awareness of not feeding the wild horses on Dartmoor as many die every year from eating human foods. In fact for each bottle that is sold, 25p is donated to the @dartmoorpreservation ❤️
The Little Bee itself is a skin contact Pinot Gris that’s been left on the skins for 13 days giving a lovely copper tinge to the wine and it’s bottled unfiltered so you get to taste it like the wine makers did through most of the winemaking process.
It’s perfect for warmer weather with its citrus peel tang and Rooibos tea like palate. It’s a foodie wine though and really shines when enjoyed with cheese and charcuterie or fuller flavoured salads.
