Wine Description & Tasting Notes
A complex and textured ‘orange wine’ made with 100% skin-contact Pinot Gris and produced with minimal intervention from start to finish.
This wine is part of Sandridge Barton’s new “Don’t Feed The Ponies” range of more experimental wines, a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it’s the river that influences how their grapes grow.
For every bottle purchased from this range, Sandridge Barton will donate 25p to the Dartmoor Preservation Association to preserve the natural habitat.
Nose: Bright aromas of ruby grapefruit, white strawberries, citrus peel and hints of Rooibos tea.
Palate: Dry with refreshing acidity and flavours of raspberry, sour stone fruits and plithy citrus with soft tannnins and a long finish.
Food Pairings: Zesty and refreshing on its own but this is a foodie wine and loves to be paired with a variety of foods, from protein packed salads to fried foods to loaded tacos packed with fresh herbs and salsas and spice.
