Wine Description & Tasting Notes
Very limited release.
Kerner is the pride and joy of Astley Vineyard. Related to Riesling, these rare and special vines were planted in 1971. A unique English wine that warrants ageing, or simply savouring.
Kerner consistantly shows improvement with age. With five years of bottle age, this is a matured, complex wine.
2014 Vintage – Inviting aromas of toasted nuts, warm apple crumble and elderflower. Immensely reminscent of an aged Riesling or Chenin Blanc.
The palate remains fresh with medium plus acidity and plenty of body.
Occasion: Aperitif, or pair with pork & white meats.
